This Trojan program exploits a vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorerto launch other Trojan programs on the victim machine. It is an HTML page; whenthe page is loaded, other malicious code written in Visual Basic Script willbe executed. The Trojan downloads another executable file from the Internet, and savesit to the Windows root directory (%WinDir%) under a randomly generated name.This file will then be launched for execution. The file will also be saved tothe Windows temporary directory (%Temp%) as "update.exe" or "file.exe". At the time of writing, the Trojan was downloading malicious programs whichKaspersky Anti-Virus detects as Trojan-PSW.Win32.LdPinch.btv or Trojan.Win32.Agent.oh. If your computer does not have an up-to-date antivirus, or does not have anantivirus solution at all, follow the instructions below to delete the maliciousprogram: - Delete the original Trojan file (its location will depend onhow the program initially penetrated the victim machine).
- Delete the following files:
%Temp%\update.exe%Temp%\file.exe - Update your antivirus databases and perform a full scan of yourcomputer (download a trial version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus).
