Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton Mayors will be having a dialogue discussion with Lehigh Valley clergy leaders on good neighborhood, safety and security issues from an interfaith perspective on November 4, 2007 at Northampton Community College. The event titled as “Why Am I Afraid Of You When I Don’t Even Know You?” will focus on “The Call to Know My Neighbor”.
Organizers are hoping to promote understanding through dialogue, to form relationships among diverse communities, and to encourage a positive change. The event is sponsored by the Lehigh Dialogue Center, Lehigh County Conference of Churches, Congregations United for Neighborhood Action and Wesley United Methodist Church.
All three Mayors will be attending to the panel discussion. Clergy Leaders representing Muslim, Christian and Jewish perspective will be talking on “the call of faith to know your neighbor”. The dialogue will continue with a discussion among the audience and written response to the panelists.
