Trend Micro Teams with Ingram Micro to Launch New Usage-based Licensing Program for U.S. VARs and Managed Service Providers
Trend Micro Incorporated (TSE: 4704), a leader in network antivirus and content security software and services and Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), today announced the availability of a usage-based licensing program that provides Ingram Micro resellers (including managed service providers (MSPs), ISPs, ASPs, VARs, system integrators, independent software vendors and others) with access to an extensive list of Trend Micro security solutions offering pay-as-you-use payment and subscription model.
Working in conjunction with Ingram Micro’s vendor management team, Trend Micro introduced this new usage-based licensing program to align more closely with the unique business model of today’s service-focused VARs and MSPs. Renowned for its business efficiency and enablement programs, Ingram Micro will manage all aspects of the new Trend Micro pay-as-you-use, subscription-based model.
“Demand for ‘pay-as-you-use’ services continues to gain traction in the IT space because of the flexibility they bring to solution providers and their clients,” said Jodi Honore, vice president, vendor management, Ingram Micro U.S. “With this offering, Ingram Micro resellers in the U.S. are able to offer their customers industry-leading security solutions without dipping into their working capital or absorbing inventory and infrastructure costs. By streamlining the delivery process and introducing a ‘pay-as-you-use’ model, we’re enabling VARs to boost their services capabilities and increase profits without adding any significant expense or other investment.”
“Predictable recurring revenue and higher margin business models are the winning combination for the ‘Next Generation’ of channel partners who decide to transform itself from a traditional reseller business to a more profitable managed service business,” said Chee Tan, senior director of Service Provider Business who architected and launched this new Trend Micro Usage-based Licensing Program. “Through this program, our channel partners are now given a tool to establish loyal customers, create ‘stickiness’ of their services, and build long-term business relationship with their end user accounts.”
