House of Jason: Trick or Treat?
Killeen, Texas - There is a local church just outside of the military base of Fort Hood, Texas which has been turning more than a few heads lately. This month has caused more than the usual uproar, being October, with Halloween just around the corner. Many churchgoing families as well as outsiders are wondering whether this place is destined to be a haunted house. Or, is it a coven? The name alone causes fear of this dreary looking old building.
Though the outside may appear dark and dreary, the inside is lively and cheery. The Holy Spirit truly dwells within those old walls. The name of the church was given to its founder, Apostle Robin Harris, in a dream, as a warning to this generation. Generation X, Dr. Linda Johnson calls it. The lost generation. "Anywhere there is an 'x-anything', someone is going without...", she stated so eloquently during her sermon on last Sunday evening. The House of Jason seeks to fill the gap left by that 'x'.
You see, the book of Acts speaks of the House of Jason distinctly as such, a house of refuge during troubled times for the people of God. Take the time to read Acts 17:5-9 (Amplified Bible), part of which states:
"And Jason has received them to his house and privately protected them! And they are all ignoring and acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar, [actually] asserting that there is another king, one Jesus!"
Well, most of the world knows a different Jason. Those of us who know God ought to know the biblical Jason. We have allowed our minds to be infected with a different image of who the true spirit of Jason is, according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Are you turning the world upside down for Jesus? Are you taking a stand that will send the city into an uproar for Jesus Christ? Are you proclaiming decees contrary to the world, namely another king, one Jesus? Also, another Jason who did good and not evil? Are you troubling the rulers? Are you willing to give your personal security for the sake of God's people and His name? Are you truly called out as a peculiar person? Or, are you ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ? The House of Jason may be a strange name, it may be peculiar to some. However, they are sold out for Jesus Christ. Who are you sold out for?
If you choose to visit the House of Jason, also Global Hearts International, on Halloween, or any day/night for that matter, you will receive a warm greeting from a wonderful sister, perhaps Sister Brenda Turner, and are much more likely to receive a treat than a trick! That treat is Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour if you have not already received Him. If you have, you will find a fresh anointing there.
