Cortland, NY, October 15, 2007 – We are proud to announce WetStone Technologies, Inc., a division of Allen Corporation of America has been selected as one of the winners of the 2007 Tibbetts Awards. WetStone received the award on October 10th at the Westin hotel located at 1400 M Street NW in Washington, D.C.
Named for Roland Tibbetts—the person acknowledged as the father of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program—these prestigious, national awards are made annually to those small firms, projects, organizations and individuals judged to exemplify the very best in SBIR achievement.
WetStone is one of 55 companies in the U.S. to receive this award and was selected from over 4,000 companies that receive contracts and grants under the SBIR Program each year. WetStone is recognized specifically for their innovation in biometric fingerprint “liveness” identification. The spoofing of biometric devices is a threat to our national security and WetStone’s LiveCheck™ technology developed under their SBIR program utilizes advanced software algorithms and neural net technology to identify fingerprint spoofing in real-time when a finger is presented for access. Since LiveCheck™ is a software only solution, the technology can be added to any existing or new biometric installations and does not require re-enrollment of the user base.
