New Episode - The Rondeau Report: Don L. Rondeau Talks Homeland Security with Former DHS Deputy Secretary Admiral Jim Loy
Don L. Rondeau discusses the current state of homeland security with Former Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Jim Loy. Rondeau States "Loy was the key operational driving force behind the stand up of DHS, Jim has also served as the Commandant of the United States Coast Gaurd and served as the Administrator of TSA".
(PRWEB) September 18, 2007 -- Greetings protectors of the homeland! While Washington was politics as usual (bipartisan bickering) Rondeau took some time to speak with a colleague who many believe possess one of the most well rounded and completely formed perspectives on what it takes to keep the homeland safe. The HLS discipline is vastly different than national defense. In dealing with US citizens, there are a host of issues one must consider when working to protect us. One must posses intimate knowledge of civil liberties, interdependency of critical assets and a understanding of the complex nature of our just in time delivery based economy. When creating the Department of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge was tapped to deploy his political leadership skills to facilitate the rapid stand up of an organization designed to protect us from imminent Harm. Admiral Jim Loy was no doubt chosen because of his successful leadership of the United States Coast guard. Loy served as leader to a service that protects our nation's critical infrastructure every day. Out of the ashes of the attacks of September 11th grew new philosophies, strategies and organizations. While the evolution of DHS has not always gone smoothly, Admiral Jim Loy has played a key role in many of the successes attributed to the HLS movement. The bottom line is that while we can all identify opportunities to improve the performance of DHS to date, Since September 11th ,the US has not been succesfully attacked by our enemies despite their best efforts.
