Civilian Crime Fighters
Imagine, a ninety percent drop in crime!
Almost unheard of in most cities and yet a small dedicated group of civilians slashed crime in their community by ninety percent!
How did they do that?
Six dedicated individuals became undercover crime watch observers. Unrelenting criminal activities in their Art precinct decided this group to do something about it. They were sick and tired of the endless break-ins, bag snatches and drug dealing that was endemic around their neighbourhood.
The Art Centre was prey to over 70 major incidents every year. These incidents included break-ins through roof areas, smashed doors and windows, knife threats and intimidation of residents. And this was coming from drug addicts looking for quick money to fund their next fix.
Working closely with their local city beat police group the undercover crime watch observers recorded in detail all suspicious behaviour, drug deals and those involved and any criminal acts and sent these incident reports directly to Police Intel. Police undercover officers then went into action and using crime watch evidence was able to locate and catch these criminals in the act. Arrests resulted and crime in the area immediately dropped.
Close cooperation between police and a security company resulted in a drop of criminal activity from over 70 serious incidents a year and within three years to only 4 minor incidents a year.
