Older Men link up with much younger women for other reasons than sex, reports LetLifeIn.com [author:Gary Geyer Public time:Jul 24, 2007] |

July 25, 2007 Irvine CA. "Let Life In" (www.LetLifeIn.com) once again separates itself from other media directed to the 50+ audience by presenting life as we get older as it really is…
“…without the B.S,” added Gary Geyer, Editor-in-chief of LetLifeIn.com.
The article’s title is, “Can a Man in His 50’s, 60’s or 70’s Find Happiness with a Much Younger Woman?” It argues that although sex is many times the impetus, more often than not there is more to the story.
The article surprisingly, makes the case for other scenarios. Instead of ‘sex and money’ the possibility of ‘knowledge and experience’ is explored.
“It’s easy to be cynical,” Geyer said, “after all ‘sex and money’ is juicier than ‘knowledge and experience’.”
LetLifeIn.com (www.LetlifeIn.com) often takes on subjects that raise questions. The online magazine doesn’t seem to shy away from controversial subjects. “We know that people over 50 think about a lot of other things besides their grandchildren, social security and arthritis. And they have opinions on EVERYTHING. That’s all part of letting life in,” he said.
The article presents it’s ‘much older man, younger woman’ case this way:
Think of a woman who, when very young, interrupted her education to get married, then quickly had children, and not too much later was abandoned by her husband because he couldn't take the responsibility for his family.
What she needs is independence. And that means first of all economic independence.
An older man can take her under his wing. Remember, the best contracts are those in which both sides benefit equally. He's going to let her quit her job and study full-time for a specified period, during which he will cover all expenses and help take care of her children.
There's no reason why it shouldn't have a sexual aspect as well.
The article makes a very good point (at least one that invites discussion): It's really the feminist agenda brought down into practical world. Without economic independence, a woman will always be dependent.
“We expect a lot of reader discussion on that one,” said Geyer.
Geyer believes that the benefits of inviting readers to comment and interact with one another in the ‘Let Life In’ discussion groups (The Conversation Pit) are evident and can be very revealing.
Recent LetLifeIn.com (www.LetLifeIn.com) articles have addressed such topics as alcoholism in retirement, assisted suicide, the stress of trying to look young, cheating, homophobia in retirement communities the sexual secrets of a Gigolo, and getting out of a bad marriage, to name but a few.
“That’s not to say we don’t write about the fun part of being 50plus too. We have posted some great articles on adventure travel, 50+ celebrities, 50+ achievers, humor, brain squeezers, sex quizzes, advice, being healthy, feeling good and a cartoon of the day,” says Geyer.
Our name and rallying cry, "Let Life In" reflects a positive attitude about being 50+. “Let Life In” is not a religion –it’s an attitude. It is not
