Transport Layer Security
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Transport Layer Security ( TLS ) and its predecessor, Secure Sockets Layer ( SSL ), are cryptographic protocols that provide secure communications on the Internet for such things as web browsing, e-mail, Internet faxing, instant messaging and other data transfers. There are slight differences between SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0, but the protocol remains substantially the same. The term "TLS" as used here applies to both protocols unless clarified by context.

SSL CERTIFICATE from 24hrsdomain.com.
June 28th 2007 ( 24hrsdomain.com ) -- Web hosting provider 24hrsdomain.com announced this week that it has also introduced a new 6-in-1 SSL certificate which is designed to apply 256-bit encryption across as many as 6 top level domains.
Your visitors, prospects, and customers are on their guard. These savvy Internet users worry that their personal and financial information might fall into the wrong hands. Turn their concerns into a competitive advantage with the iron-clad protection of a 24hrsDomain.com Secure Certificate.
The product can protect up to six versions of a company's domain name, including the .com, .net, .biz, .info, .us and .org variations. Before the new offering's release, each site would have required a separate SSL certificate to be issued.
The single-certificate versions are $19.99 and $89.99, respectively. The 6-in-1 certificate is $69.99 per year for a Turbo SSL certificate, or $249.99 per year for a high assurance certificate.
Before this product was available, Web site managers would have to purchase either an SSL Certificate for a single TLD or buy as many as six – creating the potential for security warnings in customers’ Web browsers or high costs for multiple certificates. With this new 6-in-1 SSL Certificate, e-businesses can save up to 54 percent over the cost of purchasing individual certificates.
NEW! Extended Validation SSL Certificate, An Extended Validation ( EV ) SSL certificate is a digital certificate issued in conformance with the extended validation guidelines defined by the CA/Browser Forum. Extended Validation SSL Certificate is offered at Just $499.99/yr .
"24hrsdomain.com is dedicated to supporting our customers and responding to their needs," says Sudhir K, CEO and founder of 24hrsdomain.com. "SSLs are important for gaining the confidence of online consumers. GoDaddy.com's new certificate, backed by our 24/7 support, helps our customers save money and manage their businesses more effectively."
