Financial performance
In 2006, the total turnover of the CyberPlat® payment system has reached 2 billion 639 million US dollars. Thus, the CyberPlat® Company has not only confirmed but as well reinforced its status of Russia’s largest payment system. The CyberPlat® payment system takes in over 20% of proceeds for the Russian leading cellular communication operators; being a major partner of Beeline, MTS and MegaFon by the volumes of subscriber payments.
According to the statistical data, 96% of CyberPlat®’s annual turnover is accounted for by the payments accepted from the subscribers of mobile telecommunication operators, with 1% from commercial television subscribers. The remaining 2% are payments for wire-line communication, security alarm systems, utilities, retail loans repayment and the Internet access.
CyberPlat® – the first Russian payment system – was created in 1997. The first online payment was executed on 18 March, 1998 for the benefit of the Garant-Park Company, and the first mobile operator began receiving payments on 12 August the same year.
The accession of the CyberPlat® Company to the World GSM Association testifies to a well-earned acknowledgement of the company’s contribution to the development of the domestic cellular communication market, as well as premium service quality.
Transaction
For the year 2006, 669 million payments were conducted via the CyberPlat® broad-based payment system; and by the year end, a threshold of 3 million payments a day was crossed. To date, by the daily payment volumes, CyberPlat® is the country’s largest payment system; which, according to experts, outnumbers the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in transactions. And it ought to be noted that electronic payment transaction processing in CyberPlat® is performed online and does not exceed 2 seconds.
In the December of the elapsed year alone, the system conducted 84 million payments, totaling 319 mln dollars. Such a volume of operations, with Russia’s population of 145 million people, means that over a half of the Russians enjoy the services of the CyberPlat® payment system.
