FineArt Technology, a leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions, today announced the availability of a new encryption product Big Lock™.
Big Lock is designed to meet imperious demands for easily deployable encryption solutions. According to Dr. John Liou, CEO of FineArt, FineArt has successfully developed a cutting edge technology, “Transparent File Encryption”.
For years, enhancing transparency of encryption (automatic encryption, as opposed to manual encryption) has been a significant goal for encryption industry. “Virtual Drive” and “Full Disk Encryption” have been the two major technologies for transparency of encryption.
The new “Transparent File Encryption” technology opens up a new wide range of possibilities. FineArt is developing many products based upon this technology. Big Lock is the first of them. With Big Lock, encryption and decryption are done automatically at driver level. No manual operations are needed. It benefits end users as well as IT administrators, especially for those who are annoyed by data breaches caused by frequent loss of laptop computers.
In contrast to the two other existing Transparent Encryption technologies the “file”, instead of “disk”, transparent encryption makes it more versatile. The advanced functions of Big Lock easily help users meet a variety of requirements, such as data sharing within the enterprise, e-mail security, and personal data protection.
Big Lock comes in two editions, Personal Edition, and Enterprise Edition. Personal Edition features protection of data files, shared passwords for secure e-mail exchange. Enterprise Edition, in addition, features files sharing among employees and outside contractors and partners. It automatically encrypts files saved to shared network folders, ensuring that only authorized users can read or modify the content.
