Over the past few months a fire storm of controversy has been created around the unfair marketing tactics Zango Employees in it’s spyware. Zango infects computers with their software when people download games from their site or share these games with friends. At this time their computers are monitored so that Zango can provide the user with targeting advertisements. The real issue begins when the Zango software rewrite cookies from sites that they are marketing. Marketers sending traffic to affiliate program’s using Zango essentially take credit for traffic that was originally developed by independent marketers. Another issue with Zango is that competitors can bid on keywords, including the names of sites which means that when an infected user attempts to visit site that key words have been purchased for they are redirected to the competitors site.
