Norton AntiVirus 2006 is friendly to use and has an extensive feature set that will protect your PC from malicious programs. Some of this protection includes instant messaging protection, script blocking and email POP3 protection.
Ease of Use:
The interface is logical and easy to use. The default settings provide excellent protection against e-mail viruses, SMTP worms and Trojan horses by scanning both incoming and outgoing e-mails and repairing any infected files.
Effectiveness:
In Virus Bulletin's tests with live viruses, previous versions of Norton AV earned the VB100% rating in sixteen of its most recent Windows tests.
Updates:
When you connect to the Internet, your computer uses the LiveUpdate feature built into Norton AV 2006 to download the latest AV definitions of all the latest known viruses. Staying up to date will dramatically decrease any possibility of being infected by a virus. On Average, Norton comes out with new virus definitions on a weekly basis. This was the longest time of all the virus products we reviewed.

In addition to anti-virus tools, the program comes with some great spyware and adware detection tools. It automatically detects and blocks high-risk spyware and adware programs before they are installed on your system. This software even scans all your instant message attachments for threats.
Ease of Installation:
The Norton AntiVirus 2006 is very easy to install and setup although it was slow, taking longer to install than most other packages.
Help/Support:
Norton offers support options including email, FAQs and help documentation. They responded to our email inquiries within 12 hours with helpful information. They do not offer phone support.
