Safe hiring processes are imperative to recruitment solutions. Employers want to know exactly who is being hired. Background checks verify residential address, education, employment records, references, criminal records and other public domain databases.
The issue of background checks for Indian technology job candidates arose after 12 people were arrested for allegedly defrauding four Citibank account holders in New York of more than $300,000. Three of those arrested were former call center employees of Mphasis BFL Group in Mumbai .
AuthBridge Research Services, a Gurgaon-based pre-employment background screening service announced a comprehensive solution to customers to significantly streamline their screening process.
Mukund B Kaushal (ex-Secretary to Home Ministry on Internal Security), with years of experience in successfully managing large anti-crime outfits contributes to AuthBridge’s think tank as a member of their board. He understands limitations of the information available in public domain and is working on structuring information coming in from various channels.
Reports of fake resumes are plenty. Reasons for incorrect information are plenty. With the job market flooded with lucrative offers, candidates have fewer qualms in peppering facts with varying doses of fiction.
Verification processes face many roadblocks. Colleges and university are reluctant to and are not equipped to speeden the process. Professional references hesitate to give in writing their comments on a past employee. Public databases are few. Courts and police information is rarely available online.
Ajay Trehan, CEO AuthBridge commented on the lack of centralized national databases. “In fact, it wasn't until 2004 that Credit Information Bureau of India Ltd. was formed to gather data on Indian citizens.”
Companies nationwide, from small businesses to Fortune 500’s, can rely on AuthBridge’s exceptional service, fast turnaround, legal compliance and accurate reports. AuthBridge is keenly working towards a strong reputation for providing exceptional service and fast turnaround of information, as well as ensuring its screening practices are legally compliant.
M K Zutshi(ex-Director General, Directorate of Economic Intelligence Bureau) has invaluable experience working in the revenue services domain. His presence on the Board of Advisors gives AuthBridge a great advantage as it builds risk assessment products in financial security domain.
After rushing to shift telemarketing and back-office work to India in recent years to tap low wages, U.S. and European companies are now under growing pressure from regulators and legislators to guarantee the privacy of their customers' financial and health-care data. India's $3.6 billion BPO industry is eager to defuse the issue. NASSCOM is to launch a an employee registry to allow tech workers, to voluntarily register in the database. The registry will be administered by a third party that will hire a professional reference-checking company to conduct background checks.
“Background screening ensures safe hiring processes and ensures that companies do not incur costs associated with a bad hire.” states Ajay Trehan.
