Screeners using Smiths Detection's HI-SCAN X-ray systems equipped with SmartTech can instantly transmit suspect images of possible threats to the MSA Command Center in New York City. MSA bomb technicians, who are on alert 24/7, analyze the images and provide immediate interpretation and verification in real-time.
MSA bomb technicians include experts from elite law enforcement agencies such as the NYPD Bomb Squad. MSA bomb technicians have specific training in x-ray interpretation to identify improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and are graduates of the FBI Hazardous Devices School (HDS).
SmartTech and Smiths Detection's HI-SCAN 7555i are both DHS certified under the Anti-Terror Technology provision of the Safety Act. MSA is the only explosive detection security company in the United States that provides clients liability coverage in the event of a terrorist attack.
