Does it bother you that someone can come to the United States, steal his dead father’s social security for 7 years, and get away with it because it is only $40,000?
The South Florida Coalition for Social Security Equity (southfloridacoaltion4socialsecurityequity@hotmail.com)has received official documentation that a Plantation man, Edgar Henry Ariza, 7300 NW 13 CT, Plantation, Florida, Bellsouth employee, (954-316-7373) did in fact impersonate his deceased father, Jose Ariza, from 1995-2002 and steal the monthly direct deposited funds that were meant for his father, who returned to Colombia to die in November 1995.
When the death certificate and 7 years of statements were delivered to Special Agent Rick Montero, Office of Inspector General, US Federal Bldg, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Montero told two witnesses that the money only amounted to $40,000 and would probably not be prosecuted. Montero went on to say that if the aggregate amount had been $50,000, Ariza would be prosecuted. Montero advised that the media should not be informed about this scandal.
Congressman E. Clay Shaw, self-touted social security watchdog and senior citizen advocate was informed of this crime but stated that he was not interested in investigating. Congressman Robert Wexler asked about the status of this crime, but was refused information.
A felony has been committed. According to the SSA website, the maximum sentence for converting money belonging to the United States is 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The charge of concealing information from the Social Security Administration carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. How is it that newcomers to the United States can play the system with contempt for American law, yet natives of the country are prosecuted for much less?
The Coalition encourages all voters to contact public officials to report this crime against the United States. Encourage your congressman, government officials, and law enforcers to prosecute social security crimes to the full extent of the law.
Together we can right social injustice and ensure social security funds will be in place for our future!
