Draper, Utah—April 13, 2005—Senforce Technologies™ Inc., the leader in location-aware endpoint security enforcement, today announced that it is one of five technologies or vendors to become part of the first-ever secure wireless networking solution to achieve DITSCAP (DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process) certification. Products underwent extensive and rigorous evaluation, testing, review and analyses. The integrated solution, developed by All Points in collaboration with the U.S. Army, will ensure secure, compliant wireless networking that improves operations and enhances communications and productivity.
DITSCAP establishes the standard DoD process for certifying and accrediting information systems. It applies to the acquisition, operation and support of DoD systems that collect, store, transmit or process classified or unclassified information. Army Regulation 25-2 (AR 25-2), a.k.a. Information Assurance, mandates accreditation in accordance with DoD Instruction (DODI) 5200.40, which defines the requirement for any DoD system -- including new IT systems -- to obtain DITSCAP.
"Senforce is one of the top innovators and key enabling technologies facilitating the adoption of wireless technology and the first DITSCAP certification in this area,” said Sam McGee, president, All Points Logistics, Inc. “Our solution will enable vastly improved communications while effectively protecting our networks, computing devices, data, and especially U.S. troops, against the risks inherent in wireless networking."
Potential vendors and technologies were carefully evaluated based on their ability to meet the strict policies and requirements -- involving several layers of security -- of the DoD, Army and NIST. The complete All Points wireless solution incorporates five key technologies and vendors:
§ Senforce, as the critical enabling technology for centrally-managed, location-aware endpoint security that enables powerful and automated enforcement of security policies for all desktop, mobile and wireless computers;
§ Fortress Technologies, supplying Layer 2/AES encryption;
§ Pointsec Mobile Technologies, offering two-factor authentication and AES 256 data-at-rest encryption; and
§ AirDefense, providing intrusion detection and prevention capabilities;
§ Foundry Networks, for wireless access points and management tools.
Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey, is the first location to successfully integrate all of the components of the DITSCAP-approved solution.
Senforce enables the Army to enforce security policies in accordance with the DoD Wireless Directive and U.S. Army Wireless Best Business Practices (BBP). The solution utilizes Senforce’s advanced firewall and connectivity controls, only allowing endpoints to connect to authorized, Layer 2 encrypted access points. Additionally, the company’s comprehensive endpoint security solutions ensure data and endpoint integrity; storage devices or communications methods; and prevent data theft. IT administrators can easily create, manage and enforce security policies on every endpoint computer regardless of its network location.
