A fast growing Slovene IT company XLAB d.o.o. has launched a new version of the remote desktop support software ISL LIGHT in November 2004.
The existing solution ISL LIGHT-Service License has already been used for more than a year by numerous enterprises from 17 countries, mostly from USA and Europe, and has about 1600 registered user from 117 countries worldwide. Due to its advantages, this solution has attracted mostly IT companies, whereas the target market for the new ISL LIGHT-ASP Subscription is set more loosely – the main criterion is to satisfy the need for quick and dynamic communication.
The two remote desktop support applications enable the two communicating parties to access each other's computer desktop, when approved, to remotely control the keyboard and the mouse, and also chat using the interface window. The software developers can thus give presentations on their new solution to a remote customer as well as provide remote support and maintenance; the two parties can also exchange files by simply using drag and drop, elaborate on their documents, tables, as well as prepare plans, give business presentations, etc.
An exceptional advantage of the ISL LIGHT lies in the possibilty of accessing and controlling any computer desktop remotely without preliminary software installation, provided that there is a Windows platform and an Internet connection. Both parties involved in the communication can set up a user interface in 6 European languages, and data connection is secured by means of the SSL security protocol.
A buyer using the ISL LIGHT-Service License solution gets a license to use a server application, which works independently of other servers, and thus allows better control over the server. The new ISL LIGHT-ASP Subscription, however, functions as a service. A customer receives a user account for unlimited use of the server network. Instant use without previous installation and system configuration is therefore assured, but most importantly, without server maintenance. The customer only connects to the server by using the allocated password, receives a one-time session code to be used with the conversational partner, and after s/he inserts the code in the interface window, communication with the conversational partner is established.
