FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Now a single scanner can meet the needs of an entire office. With RemoteScan

people can scan documents while working at their own computers - importing and acquiring directly into their applications without having to purchase additional scanners.
RemoteScan(tm) is Windows software that turns any TWAIN compatible scanner into a network scanner. RemoteScan does what a lot of technical people consider impossible: it allows ordinary document scanners to be shared on a network. Now people on any Windows network can share a document scanner in the same way they share printers. RemoteScan is now in use on thousands of computers in homes and at businesses world-wide (currently RemoteScan is available in the following languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Dutch).
With a Server copy of RemoteScan installed on the computer to which the scanner is attached, any computer installed with the RemoteScan client can then use the scanner over the network. RemoteScan is transparent: the computer where the scanner is attached can be used as normal even while other people on the network use it's scanner. On computers where the client software is installed, the shared scanner appears in the list of import devices within all application software.
RemoteScan works with wireless networks and over the Internet. With RemoteScan there is no need to disconnect and reconnect cables to use a scanner. With RemoteScan, for the first time scanners can be accessed and operated from anywhere in the world over the Internet.
RemoteScan also works with Windows Terminal Server. With RemoteScan, application software running on the server can access scanners connected to users individual client computers.
RemoteScan works with all TWAIN compatible scanners, including USB/SCSI/Parallel flatbed, sheet feeder and high speed duplex scanners. RemoteScan works with all versions of Windows since and including Windows98. RemoteScan poses no known security risks. RemoteScan is available for purchase and immediate download from www.remote-scan.com A Personal Use license for RemoteScan is currently priced at $39.99, and includes a license to install up to four client copies. Business licensing, educational and non-profit pricing is available.
RemoteScan(tm) software has been developed by the same people who founded FreeMail, Inc, and licensed their FreeMail software to Kinko's as the world wide Kinkonet system.
