In February 2003, while traveling in Australia with her two best friends, Shannon and one of her friends unexpectedly found themselves in a life or death battle. During a morning swim in the ocean, the two became trapped in a rip tide that swept them away from each other and into the fight of their lives. In those last few seconds in the ocean, Shannon felt herself in death’s grip -- the end was eminent. That’s when she found herself at the beginning.

A former college instructor and corporate trainer, Cara Shannon resides in northeast Ohio with her husband and three teenagers.
