| Port Monitor Detail |
The Port Monitor application is a dedicated security tool designed for monitoring and controlling all hardware connection events that may occur in the configuration of a computer, it¡¯s either a standalone computer or part of a company LAN.
The concept behind the application is to ensure ports security by providing two types of protection: passive protection - by monitoring and signaling all device connection events to the system or network administrator - and active protection - by blocking the functioning of a certain peripheral until the access password is confirmed by the administrator. More than that, advanced monitoring settings allow full customization based on device types, time intervals and users profiles. Once installed on a computer, Port Monitor retrieves the complete hardware configuration list as registered by the operating system and permanently monitors all hardware devices found in the configuration list, especially the connection ports. Once a device connection occurs, Port Monitor blocks the functioning of that device until the access password is confirmed.
The Port Monitor application is available in two versions: the Personal version and the Professional version. Both versions ensure the same security level, but they target different environments.
Derived from the Professional version, the free Personal version of the Port Monitor application brings the enterprise security level to home users, allowing them to protect their computers against hardware intrusions. The Personal version is free for download and it has no time or functionality limitations. It¡¯s the ideal security tool for everyone who wants to prevent the connection of various peripherals or internal hardware to the personal computer.
