Registry Mechanic appears to freeze and/or go white and indicate Not Responding during a Deep Scan.

Although Registry Mechanic may appear to hang during a scan, it is still running. Occasionally, Registry Mechanic needs additional time to build its invalid entry list within the detected problems window, which can make the application appear to hang during a scan. Once the invalid entry list is rebuilt, any future scans and repairs will occur within an acceptable time frame (normally within a few minutes).

If Registry Mechanic takes an excessively long time to complete a scan, please complete these steps outlined below:

  1. Just before the end of the evening, launch Registry Mechanic.

  2. Click either the Scan You Computer or Start Scan button on the Main Status screen, to conduct a Full Scan of your computer.

Let Registry Mechanic complete its scan process overnight.

  1. The next morning, click the Repair button on the Scan results screen. Please allow between 5-60 minutes for Registry Mechanic to complete its repair process.
