The resident scanner of many anti-virus products significantly affects
the speed of Windows Registry scanning software such as Registry Mechanic.
We have found that disabling the resident/real-time/auto-protect scanner
of these products allows Registry Mechanic to scan within an acceptable
time frame.

detail the problem that is occurring and the name and version of your
anti-virus product.
