Is Registry Mechanic targeted at novice or advanced users?

I am having problems with Live Update.
When starting Registry Mechanic I get the error "This program has been damaged."

Registry Mechanic's Main Status screen

The following is a description of Registry Mechanic's Main Status screen:

Select an Action

  • Scan Your Registry - Click this button to commence a Full Scan of the Windows Registry, search for problems and repair them.

  • Optimize Your System / Reset Optimization - Click this button to apply / remove a set of tweaks and patches to the Windows Registry, which are designed to optimize and improve system performance.

  • Compact Registry - Click this button to begin compacting the Windows Registry. This process is designed to improve system reliability and speed for every user on the system.

  • Click to reset statistics - Click to reset the values under the Status & Summary section (below).

Status and Summary

  • Last scan date and time - Displays the date and time of the commencement of the last scan. If the statistics are reset or a scan is not conducted or completed following installation, this field displays "Registry Mechanic" upon resetting the statistics.

  • Last scan results - Displays the number of problems found in the last scan. If the statistics are reset or a scan is not conducted or completed following installation, this field displays the build number of the Registry Mechanic application.

  • Last registry compaction date and time - Displays the date and time of the last registry compaction. If the statistics are reset or a registry compaction is not conducted or completed following installation, this field displays "Compact and optimize your registry" as a reminder to utilize the Compact Registry function for optimizing system performance.
