I am having problems with Live Update.
When starting Registry Mechanic I get the error "This program has been damaged."
I get a runtime error message on startup.
Registry Mechanic is registered, but after scanning and repairing consecutively, the same number of problems appear.
Registry Mechanic appears to freeze and/or go white and indicate "Not Responding" during a Deep Scan.
Registry Mechanic appears to be very slow and/or freeze at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software -> Building Index..."

I get a runtime error message on startup.

Sometimes, you may encounter errors caused by some VB runtime and MS scripting files not having been properly installed or removed from your system.

Errors may include:

  • "Class factory cannot supply the requested class. Error Source SetAll Text Function"

  • "Run-time error '-2147221231 (80040111)': Automation error ClassFactory cannot supply requested class"

  • "Run-time error '429'"

  • "ActiveX component can't create object"

To resolve the issue, complete the following steps:

  1. Ensure that Registry Mechanic has been closed.

  2. Uninstall Registry Mechanic by clicking on Start -> All Programs / Programs -> Registry Mechanic (folder) -> Uninstall Registry Mechanic and follow the prompts to remove the application from your computer.

  3. If necessary, navigate to the "Registry Mechanic" folder on your hard drive and delete the folder and its entire contents. This is folder is usually found within the "Program Files" folder.

  4. Re-install Registry Mechanic.

If this procedure does not resolve this issue, please visit Windows Update and install any critical updates.
